Arabic hadith text
وَعَنْهُ قَالَ: غَزَوْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ فَأَتَتِ الْيَهُودُ فَشَكَوْا أَنَّ النَّاسَ قَدْ أَسْرَعُوا إِلَى خَضَائِرِهِمْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَلَا لَا يَحِلُّ أَمْوَالُ المعاهِدينَ إِلاَّ بحقِّها» . رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد
Translation
He also reported: I went on campaign with the Prophet ﷺ on the day of Khaybar. The Jews came complaining that people had hastened to their vegetable gardens. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Take heed: the property of people under covenant is not lawful except by its due right.’ Abu Dawud transmitted it.
