Mishkat al-Masabih 4143
Arabic hadith text
وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِذَا وَقَعَ الذُّبَابُ فِي إِنَاءِ أَحَدِكُمْ فَامْقُلُوهُ فَإِنَّ فِي أَحَدِ جَنَاحَيْهِ دَاءً وَفِي الْآخَرِ شِفَاءً فَإِنَّهُ يَتَّقِي بِجَنَاحِهِ الَّذِي فِيهِ الدَّاءُ فَلْيَغْمِسْهُ كُلَّهُ» . رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد
Translation
Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘If a fly falls into one of your vessels, immerse it, for on one of its wings is a disease and on the other a cure. It protects itself with the wing that has the disease, so immerse it completely.’ Abu Dawud transmitted it.
