Abu Said al-Khudri reported that on the days of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, the Prophet would go out to the prayer ground. The first thing he did was pray. Then he would turn and stand facing the people, who remained seated in their rows. He would exhort them, advise them, and instruct them. If he intended to send out an expedition, he would do so; if he had an order to give, he would give it. Then he would leave. Al-Bukhari and Muslim transmitted it.
