Al-Bara ibn Azib reported that the Messenger of God was asked, “What defects should be avoided in sacrificial animals?” He gestured with his hand and said, “Four: an animal that is lame, with obvious lameness; one with an obvious defect in its eye; one that is sick, with obvious illness; and one that is emaciated, with no marrow.”
Malik, Ahmad, al-Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud, al-Nasai, Ibn Majah, and al-Darimi transmitted it.
