Mishkat al-Masabih 1476
وَعَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ قَالَ: قَالَ أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا هَذِهِ الْأَضَاحِيُّ؟ قَالَ: «سُنَّةُ أبيكم إِبْرَاهِيم عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام» قَالُوا: فَمَا لَنَا فِيهَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ: «بِكُلِّ شَعْرَةٍ حَسَنَةٌ» . قَالُوا: فَالصُّوفُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ: «بِكُلِّ شَعْرَةٍ مِنَ الصُّوفِ حَسَنَة» رَوَاهُ أَحْمد وَابْن مَاجَه

Zayd ibn Arqam said: The Companions of the Messenger of God asked, “Messenger of God, what are these sacrificial animals?” He replied, “The practice of your forefather Abraham, peace be upon him.” They asked, “What do we receive from them, Messenger of God?” He replied, “A good deed for every hair.” They asked, “And for wool, Messenger of God?” He replied, “A good deed for every strand of wool.”
