Abu Musa reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Every eye commits adultery. When a woman perfumes herself and passes by a gathering, she is so-and-so”—meaning an adulteress. Al-Tirmidhi transmitted it; Abu Dawud and al-Nasaʾi transmitted a similar report.
Notes and open questions — unreviewed
The phrase “so-and-so” is present in the Arabic and then explained as “an adulteress”; the metaphorical wording is retained.
