Abu Malik al-Ashari said: Shall I tell you how the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, prayed? He had the iqama pronounced, lined up the men, and lined up the boys behind them. Then he led them in prayer and described how he prayed. Then he said, This is how the prayer is. Abd al-Ala said: I think he said only, of my community. Abu Dawud transmitted it.

Notes and open questions — unreviewed
  • The Arabic wording is incomplete after This is how the prayer. The narrator Abd al-Ala then gives his uncertain recollection, I think he said only my community.
