وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسلم: «إِذا صلى أحدكُم النَّاس فَلْيُخَفِّفْ فَإِنَّ فِيهِمُ السَّقِيمَ وَالضَّعِيفَ وَالْكَبِيرَ. وَإِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ لِنَفْسِهِ فَلْيُطَوِّلْ مَا شَاءَ»

Abu Hurayrah, may God be pleased with him, reported that the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When one of you leads the people in prayer, let him make it brief, for among them are the sick, the weak, and the elderly. When one of you prays alone, let him make it as long as he wishes.
