عَنْ عَلِيٍّ وَمُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَا: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِذَا أَتَى أَحَدُكُمْ الصَّلَاةَ وَالْإِمَامُ عَلَى حَالٍ فَلْيَصْنَعْ كَمَا يَصْنَعُ الْإِمَامُ» . رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وَقَالَ: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ

Ali and Muadh ibn Jabal, may God be pleased with them, reported that the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When one of you comes to the prayer while the imam is in a particular position, let him do as the imam does. Al-Tirmidhi transmitted it and said: This is a gharib hadith.
