Mishkat al-Masabih 1173
وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ صَلَّى بَعْدَ الْمَغْرِبِ سِتَّ رَكَعَاتٍ لَمْ يَتَكَلَّمْ فِيمَا بَيْنَهُنَّ بِسُوءٍ عُدِلْنَ لَهُ بِعِبَادَةِ ثِنْتَيْ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً» . رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وَقَالَ: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ حَدِيثِ عمر بن أَبِي خَثْعَمٍ وَسَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ إِسْمَاعِيلَ يَقُولُ: هُوَ مُنكر الحَدِيث وَضَعفه جدا

Abu Hurayrah, may God be pleased with him, reported that the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever prays six rakahs after the sunset prayer and speaks no evil between them, they will be equivalent for him to the worship of twelve years. Al-Tirmidhi transmitted it and said: This is a gharib hadith; I know it only through the report of Umar ibn Abi Khath am. I heard Muhammad ibn Ismail say: He is rejected in hadith, and he declared him very weak.
