وَعَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: كُنَّا بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَإِذَا أَذَّنَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ لِصَلَاةِ الْمَغْرِبِ ابْتَدَرُوا السَّوَارِيَ فَرَكَعُوا رَكْعَتَيْنِ حَتَّى إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ الْغَرِيبَ لَيَدْخُلُ الْمَسْجِدَ فَيَحْسَبُ أَنَّ الصَّلَاةَ قَدْ صُلِّيَتْ مِنْ كَثْرَةِ مَنْ يُصَلِّيهمَا. رَوَاهُ مُسلم

Anas said: When we were in Medina, as soon as the caller to prayer gave the call for the sunset prayer, people would hurry to the pillars and pray two rakahs. There were so many praying them that a stranger entering the mosque would think the prayer had already been performed. Muslim transmitted it.
