Abu Hurayrah reported that the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When one of you sleeps, Satan ties three knots at the back of his head, striking each knot and saying: You have a long night, so sleep. If he wakes and remembers God, one knot is undone. If he performs ablution, another knot is undone. If he prays, another knot is undone. By morning he will be active and in good spirits; otherwise he will be in bad spirits and sluggish.
