Mishkat al-Masabih 3654
وَعَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى بَعَثَنِي رَحْمَة للعالمينَ وهُدىً لِلْعَالِمِينَ وَأَمَرَنِي رَبِّي عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بِمَحْقِ الْمَعَازِفِ وَالْمَزَامِيرِ وَالْأَوْثَانِ وَالصُّلُبِ وَأَمْرِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَحَلَفَ رَبِّي عزَّ وجلَّ: بعِزَّتي لَا يشربُ عبدٌ منْ عَبِيدِي جرعة خَمْرٍ إِلَّا سَقَيْتُهُ مِنَ الصَّدِيدِ مِثْلَهَا وَلَا يَتْرُكُهَا مِنْ مَخَافَتِي إِلَّا سَقَيْتُهُ مِنْ حِيَاضِ الْقُدس ". رَوَاهُ أَحْمد
Abu Umama reported that the Prophet said: God Most High sent me as a mercy and guidance for all people. My Lord, Mighty and Majestic, commanded me to eradicate musical instruments, flutes, idols, crosses, and the practices of the Age of Ignorance. My Lord, Mighty and Majestic, swore: By My might, no servant of Mine drinks a mouthful of wine without My giving him an equal measure of pus to drink; and if he abstains from it out of fear of Me, I will give him drink from the pools of holiness. Ahmad transmitted it.
