Mishkat al-Masabih 501, 502
عَن لبَابَة بنت الْحَارِث قَالَتْ: كَانَ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا فِي حِجْرِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسلم فَبَال عَلَيْهِ فَقُلْتُ الْبَسْ ثَوْبًا وَأَعْطِنِي إِزَارَكَ حَتَّى أَغْسِلَهُ قَالَ: «إِنَّمَا يُغْسَلُ مِنْ بَوْلِ الْأُنْثَى وَيُنْضَحُ مِنْ بَوْلِ الذَّكَرِ» . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ وَابْن مَاجَه وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ لِأَبِي دَاوُدَ وَالنَّسَائِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي السَّمْحِ قَالَ: يُغْسَلُ مِنْ بَوْلِ الْجَارِيَةِ وَيُرَشُّ من بَوْل الْغُلَام
Lubāba bint al-Ḥārith said: ‘Al-Ḥusayn ibn ʿAlī was on the Messenger of Allah’s lap and urinated on him. I said: “Put on a garment and give me your lower wrap so I can wash it.” He replied: “Only the urine of a female is washed; the urine of a male is sprinkled with water.”’
Aḥmad, Abū Dāwūd, and Ibn Mājah transmitted it. In a version from Abū al-Samḥ transmitted by Abū Dāwūd and al-Nasāʾī, he said: ‘The urine of a girl is washed, and the urine of a boy is sprinkled.’
