Arabic hadith text
وَعَن امْرَأَةٍ مِنْ بَنِي عَبْدِ الْأَشْهَلِ قَالَتْ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ لَنَا طَرِيقًا إِلَى الْمَسْجِد مُنْتِنَة فَكيف نَفْعل إِذا مُطِرْنَا قَالَ: «أَلَيْسَ بعْدهَا طَرِيق هِيَ أطيب مِنْهَا قَالَت قلت بلَى قَالَ فَهَذِهِ بِهَذِهِ» . رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد
Translation
A woman from Banū ʿAbd al-Ashhal said: ‘I told the Messenger of Allah: “Our road to the mosque is foul. What should we do when it rains?” He asked: “Is there not, after it, a road better than it?” I said: “Yes.” He replied: “This for that.”’ Abū Dāwūd transmitted it.
