Mishkat al-Masabih 519
عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَنَّهُ رَخَّصَ لِلْمُسَافِرِ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيَهُنَّ وَلِلْمُقِيمِ يَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً إِذَا تَطَهَّرَ فَلَبِسَ خُفَّيْهِ أَنْ يَمْسَحَ عَلَيْهِمَا. رَوَاهُ الْأَثْرَمُ فِي سُنَنِهِ وَابْنُ خُزَيْمَةَ وَالدَّارَقُطْنِيّ وَقَالَ الْخَطَّابِيُّ: هُوَ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ هَكَذَا فِي الْمُنْتَقى
Abū Bakra reported that the Prophet granted a traveler permission to wipe over his khuffs for three days and nights, and a resident for one day and night, provided that he had been in a state of ritual purity when he put them on. Al-Athram transmitted it in his Sunan; Ibn Khuzayma and al-Dāraquṭnī also transmitted it. Al-Khaṭṭābī said in al-Muntaqā that its chain is sound.
