وَعَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَا أَصَرَّ مَنِ اسْتَغْفَرَ وَإِنْ عَادَ فِي الْيَوْمِ سَبْعِينَ مَرَّةً» . رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ

Translation

Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may God be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of God (peace be upon him) said: ‘One who seeks forgiveness does not persist in sin, even if he returns to it seventy times in a day.’ Al-Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud transmitted it. The Arabic source grades it weak (al-Albani).
