Translation

‘Uqbah ibn ‘Amir reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘The example of a person who commits an evil deed and then does good deeds is like that of a man wearing a tight coat of mail that has constricted him. Then he does a good deed, and one ring comes loose; he does another, and another ring comes loose, until he emerges onto the open ground.’ It is related in Sharh al-Sunnah.
