Abu al-Darda’ heard the Prophet ﷺ preaching from the pulpit and saying, ‘For whoever fears standing before his Lord are two gardens.’ I asked, ‘Even if he commits adultery and steals, O Messenger of Allah?’ He recited it a second time: ‘For whoever fears standing before his Lord are two gardens.’ I asked a second time, ‘Even if he commits adultery and steals, O Messenger of Allah?’ He recited it a third time: ‘For whoever fears standing before his Lord are two gardens.’ I asked a third time, ‘Even if he commits adultery and steals?’ He said, ‘Even if Abu al-Darda’s nose is rubbed in the dust.’ Reported by Ahmad. The hadith was not studied by al-Albani.
