Translation

‘Ikrimah reported from Ibn ‘Abbas (may God be pleased with them both): ‘Asking is to raise your hands level with your shoulders or near them. Seeking forgiveness is to point with one finger. Earnest supplication is to extend both your hands.’ Another version says: ‘Beseeching is like this,’ and he raised his hands with their backs facing his face. Abu Dawud transmitted it. The Arabic source marks it as not studied by al-Albani.
