Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَالِدٍ الأَحْمَرُ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ جِئْنَا بِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُحَنِّكُهُ فَطَلَبْنَا تَمْرَةً فَعَزَّ عَلَيْنَا طَلَبُهَا .
Translation
Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shayba narrated to us: Abu Khalid al-Ahmar narrated to us from Hisham, from his father, from Aisha, who said: We brought Abd Allah ibn al-Zubayr to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) so that he would rub a date on his palate. We asked for a date, but it was difficult for us to find one.
