Sahih Muslim 1414
وَحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، عَنِ اللَّيْثِ، وَغَيْرِهِ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ، أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ شُمَاسَةَ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ، عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَقُولُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " الْمُؤْمِنُ أَخُو الْمُؤْمِنِ فَلاَ يَحِلُّ لِلْمُؤْمِنِ أَنْ يَبْتَاعَ عَلَى بَيْعِ أَخِيهِ وَلاَ يَخْطُبَ عَلَى خِطْبَةِ أَخِيهِ حَتَّى يَذَرَ " .
Abu al-Tahir narrated to me: Abd Allah ibn Wahb informed us, from al-Layth and others, from Yazid ibn Abi Habib, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Shumasa, who heard Uqba ibn Amir say from the pulpit: The Messenger of Allah said, “A believer is the brother of another believer. It is therefore not lawful for a believer to outbid his brother in a sale or propose marriage over his proposal until he withdraws.”
