Translation

Yahya ibn Yahya, Yahya ibn Ayyub, Qutaybah ibn Sa‘id, and Ibn Hujr narrated to us. Yahya ibn Yahya said: Isma‘il—meaning Ibn Ja‘far—informed us; the others said: Isma‘il narrated to us, from Yazid ibn Khusayfah, from Ibn Qusayt, from ‘Ata ibn Yasar, who told him that he had asked Zayd ibn Thabit about reciting along with the imam. He replied: “There is no recitation along with the imam in anything.” He also claimed that he had recited “By the star when it sets” (Qur’an 53:1) to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he did not prostrate.
