حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو صَفْوَانَ الأُمَوِيُّ، ح وَحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ، وَحَرْمَلَةُ، بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالاَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، كِلاَهُمَا عَنْ يُونُسَ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، أَنَّسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ ‏"‏ الْحَلِفُ مَنْفَقَةٌ لِلسِّلْعَةِ مَمْحَقَةٌ لِلرِّبْحِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Translation

Zuhayr ibn Harb narrated to us; Abu Safwan al-Umawi narrated to us. Abu al-Tahir and Harmalah ibn Yahya also narrated to me; they said: Ibn Wahb informed us. Both chains report from Yunus, from Ibn Shihab, from Ibn al-Musayyab, followed in the source text by the wording 'I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: An oath may help sell a commodity, but it erases the profit.'
