Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, said: I have prepared for My pious servants which no eye (has ever) seen, no ear has (ever) heard and no human heart has ever perceived those bounties leaving apart (those bounties) about which Allah has informed you.
The Book of Paradise, its Description, its Bounties and its Inhabitants
Sahih Muslim 2824 b
Divine Promise of Unimaginable Bounties
This sacred hadith qudsi reveals that Allah has prepared rewards for His righteous servants that transcend all human comprehension and sensory experience. The phrase "no eye has ever seen" indicates that the beauty and splendor of Paradise surpasses anything witnessed in this worldly existence.
Transcendent Nature of Heavenly Rewards
"No ear has ever heard" signifies that the delights, harmonies, and divine communications in Paradise exceed all auditory experiences known to humanity. The pleasures are of such purity and perfection that they cannot be compared to worldly sounds.
"No human heart has ever perceived" demonstrates that the spiritual joys, contentment, and divine proximity in the Hereafter are beyond human imagination and intellectual capacity. The heart's capacity for pleasure in Paradise is infinitely expanded.
Scholarly Commentary
The exclusion clause "leaving apart those bounties about which Allah has informed you" indicates that while the complete reality remains beyond our grasp, the Quran and Sunnah provide glimpses through allegories and descriptions suited to human understanding. These revelations, though magnificent, represent only a fraction of the actual divine rewards awaiting the believers.
This hadith emphasizes that the ultimate reward is direct divine pleasure and proximity to Allah, which encompasses all other blessings. The pious servants referred to are those who fulfilled Allah's commands and avoided His prohibitions, thereby earning this unimaginable recompense.
