"He who comes for Jumu'a he should take a bath."
Commentary
This noble hadith establishes the obligation of performing ghusl (ritual bath) for the Friday prayer. The scholars have differed regarding its ruling: the majority hold it to be strongly recommended (sunnah mu'akkadah), while some consider it obligatory.
The wisdom behind this injunction includes purification from physical impurities, preparation for the sacred gathering, honoring the sanctity of Friday which Allah has distinguished among days, and following the example of the Prophet (peace be upon him) who emphasized this practice.
The time for this bath begins from dawn on Friday until the prayer time. It suffices to perform any valid ghusl that removes major impurity, though the complete form including washing all body parts is preferable. This purification reflects both outer cleanliness and inner spiritual preparation for standing before Allah in congregation.
Juridical Rulings

• Minority view: Obligatory (wajib)
