It Is Permissible For A Blind Man To Call The Adhan So long As There Is A Man With Him Who Sees
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلاَءِ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَخْلَدٍ - عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ كَانَابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ يُؤَذِّنُ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَهُوَ أَعْمَى .
Translation
A'isha reported
Ibn Umm Maktum used to pronounce Adhan at the behest of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) (despite the fact) that he was blind.
