Anas reported that a man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: O Messenger of Allah, I have committed an offense that requires a prescribed penalty, so carry it out on me. Prayer time came, and he prayed with the Messenger of Allah. After the prayer he said again: I have committed an offense that requires a prescribed penalty; apply Allah's ruling to me. The Prophet asked: Did you pray with us? He said: Yes. The Prophet replied: You have been forgiven.
