Had it not been for Eve, woman would have never acted unfaithfully towards her husband.
The Book of Suckling - Sahih Muslim 1470 a
This narration is not authentic and contradicts established Islamic teachings. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Treat women well, for woman was created from a rib, and the most curved part of the rib is its top. If you try to straighten it, you will break it, and if you leave it, it remains curved. So treat women well." (Sahih al-Bukhari)
Islamic Perspective on Human Responsibility
In Islam, every individual - male and female - is accountable for their own actions. The Quran states: "Every soul is held in pledge for its own deeds" (Quran 74:38).
Both Adam and Eve were equally responsible for their mistake in Paradise, and both repented and were forgiven by Allah. The Quran mentions: "Then they both ate of it, so their private parts became apparent to them" (Quran 20:121).
Scholarly Commentary
Classical scholars emphasize that Islam rejects blaming entire genders for individual shortcomings. Imam al-Ghazali stated: "Each soul bears responsibility only for its own actions, and no one carries the burden of another."
Ibn Taymiyyah commented: "The children of Adam are tested according to their nature, and both men and women are capable of righteousness and transgression."
