Translation

Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna and Ibn Bashshar narrated to us; they both said: Muhammad ibn Jafar narrated to us; Shubah narrated to us, from Amr ibn Murrah, from Abu al-Bakhtari, who said: I asked Ibn Abbas about the sale of palm trees. He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade selling dates on the trees until people had eaten from them, or they had become fit to be eaten, and until they had been weighed. I asked: What does “weighed” mean? A man who was with him said: Until they have been estimated.
