Translation

Ubayd Allah ibn Umar al-Qawariri narrated to me; Yazid ibn Zuray narrated to us; al-Hajjaj al-Sawwaf narrated to us; Abu al-Zubayr narrated to me; Jabir ibn Abd Allah narrated to us that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) visited Umm al-Saib—or Umm al-Musayyib—and said: What is the matter, Umm al-Saib—or Umm al-Musayyib? Why are you trembling? She said: It is the fever; may Allah not bless it. He said: Do not curse the fever, for it removes the sins of the children of Adam just as a furnace removes impurities from iron.
