Translation

Ibrahim ibn Musa al-Razi informed me; Isa—meaning Ibn Yunus—informed us. Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah and Abu Kurayb also narrated to us; they said: Waki narrated to us. Abu Kurayb also narrated to us; Ibn Numayr narrated to us. All of them reported from Hisham ibn Urwah, from his father, from Ibn Abbas, who said: 'I wish people would reduce the bequest from one-third to one-quarter, for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, One-third, and one-third is a lot.' In Waki's report, the wording is 'great' or 'a lot.'
