O son of Adam, spend. I will spend on you. The right hand of Allah is full and overflowing and in nothing would diminish it, by overspending day and night.

Comment

The Book of Zakat - Sahih Muslim 993a

This narration from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) contains profound wisdom regarding the divine promise attached to charitable spending in Allah's cause.

Divine Guarantee of Recompense

"O son of Adam, spend. I will spend on you" establishes a direct covenant between the Creator and His servant. When a believer spends from their lawful wealth for righteous purposes, Allah guarantees multiplied recompense both in this world and the Hereafter.

The Infinite Divine Treasury

"The right hand of Allah is full and overflowing" symbolizes the limitless nature of Allah's bounty. Unlike earthly treasures that diminish through distribution, the Divine treasury remains perpetually abundant, unaffected by continuous giving.

Timeless Generosity

"In nothing would diminish it, by overspending day and night" emphasizes that Allah's generosity operates beyond temporal constraints. Continuous giving from His endless treasures causes no depletion, reflecting His eternal and self-sustaining nature.

Spiritual Implications

This hadith encourages believers to transcend worldly attachments and trust in divine provision. It transforms charity from mere financial transaction to an act of spiritual investment with guaranteed returns from the Owner of all provisions.
