Strange are the ways of a believer for there is good in every affair of his and this is not the case with anyone else except in the case of a believer for if he has an occasion to feel delight, he thanks (God), thus there is a good for him in it, and if he gets into trouble and shows resignation (and endures it patiently), there is a good for him in it.

This profound narration from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) illuminates the unique spiritual state of the true believer. The believer's affairs are indeed wondrous, for they transform every circumstance into a means of divine proximity and spiritual elevation.
When blessed with ease and delight, the believer responds with shukr (gratitude) to Allah, recognizing the blessing as from Him alone. This gratitude increases the believer's faith and merits divine reward, making the pleasant circumstance spiritually beneficial.
When afflicted with hardship, the believer exercises sabr (patient perseverance), accepting the divine decree without complaint. This patient endurance purifies sins, elevates spiritual stations, and becomes a cause for divine mercy and recompense.
Thus, both conditions - ease and hardship - become vehicles for spiritual advancement. This unique perspective distinguishes the believer, who sees beyond apparent circumstances to perceive the underlying wisdom and mercy of the All-Wise, All-Knowing Creator.
