" Allah would build for him a house in Paradise."
The Book of Zuhd and Softening of Hearts
Sahih Muslim - Hadith 533e
Hadith Text
"Allah would build for him a house in Paradise."
Traditional Commentary
This blessed hadith, narrated by Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him), promises a magnificent reward for those who perform specific righteous deeds. The construction of a house in Paradise signifies permanence, honor, and divine acceptance.
The classical scholars explain that this house is not like earthly dwellings but is built from precious gems, pearls, and divine light, with its foundations rooted in divine mercy. Its construction begins immediately upon the believer's righteous action and continues to be perfected until they enter Paradise.
Imam al-Nawawi comments that this house represents the ultimate abode of peace and contentment, far superior to any worldly palace. The use of the word "build" indicates Allah's personal attention to preparing this eternal dwelling for His faithful servant.
This promise serves as a powerful motivation for believers to increase in good deeds, knowing that each righteous action contributes to their eternal home in the hereafter, prepared by the Creator Himself.
