Arabic hadith text
وَحَدَّثَنِي وَهْبُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي، نَضْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " إِذَا بُويِعَ لِخَلِيفَتَيْنِ فَاقْتُلُوا الآخَرَ مِنْهُمَا " .
Translation
Wahb ibn Baqiyyah al-Wasiti narrated to me; Khalid ibn Abdullah narrated to us, from al-Jurayri, from Abu Nadhrah, from Abu Said al-Khudri, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “If allegiance is pledged to two caliphs, kill the later of the two.”
