The Book Pertaining to the Remembrance of Allah, Supplication, Repentance and Seeking Forgiveness

Amr ibn Maymun reported: Whoever says ten times, There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner; to Him belongs dominion and praise, and He has power over all things, is like one who freed four slaves from the descendants of Ishmael. Rabi ibn Khuthaym narrated a similar report. Al-Shabi said: I asked Rabi from whom he heard it. He said: From Amr ibn Maymun. I went to Amr and asked him; he said: From Ibn Abi Layla. I went to Ibn Abi Layla, who said: From Abu Ayyub al-Ansari, narrating it from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).

Abu Huraira reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Two phrases are light on the tongue, heavy on the Scale, and beloved to the Most Merciful: Glory and praise be to Allah; glory be to Allah, the Magnificent.

Abu Huraira reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: To say Glory be to Allah, praise be to Allah, there is no god but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest is dearer to me than everything over which the sun rises.

Musab ibn Sad reported from his father: A Bedouin came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said: Teach me words to say. He replied: Say, There is no god but Allah alone, without partner; Allah is supremely great; abundant praise belongs to Allah; glory be to Allah, Lord of the worlds; there is no might or power except through Allah, the Almighty, the Wise. The man said: These are for my Lord; what is for me? He said: Say, O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, and provide for me. Musa said: I think he also said, Keep me safe, but I am not sure. Ibn Abi Shayba did not mention Musa's statement in his version.

Musab ibn Sad reported from his father: We were with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and he said: Is any one of you unable to earn one thousand good deeds each day? Someone among those present asked: How can one of us earn one thousand good deeds? He replied: Say, Glory be to Allah, one hundred times, and one thousand good deeds will be recorded for him, or one thousand sins will be erased.

Abu Saeed al-Khudri reported: Muawiya came upon a circle in the mosque and asked: What has brought you together? They said: We are sitting here remembering Allah. He asked: By Allah, is that the only reason you are sitting here? They said: By Allah, that is the only reason. He said: I did not ask you to swear because I suspect you. No one of my standing with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) narrated fewer reports from him than I did. The Messenger of Allah once came upon a circle of his Companions and asked: What has brought you together? They said: We are sitting here remembering Allah and praising Him for guiding us to Islam and blessing us with it. He asked them by Allah whether that was their only purpose, and they said it was. He said: I did not ask you to swear because I suspect you. Rather, Gabriel came to me and told me that Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, is boasting of you to the angels.

Abu Huraira reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Whoever repents before the sun rises from the west, Allah will accept his repentance.
