The Prohibition of Wearing Silk for Men and its Permissibility for Women
Arabic hadith text
وعن أبى موسى الأشعرى رضى الله عنه أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: "حرم لباس الحرير والذهب على ذكور أمتي ،وأحل لإناثهم".((رواه الترمذي))
Translation
Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari (May Allah be pleased with him) reported
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "The wearing of silk and gold has been made unlawful for males of my Ummah and lawful for the females."[At-Tirmidhi].
