حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، قَالَ‏:‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَ‏:‏ إِنَّمَا كَانَ فِرَاشُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، الَّذِي يَنَامُ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَدَمٍ، حَشْوُهُ لِيفٌ‏.‏

‘A’isha said (may Allah be well pleased with her)

"The mattress on which Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) used to sleep consisted of tanned hides stuffed with fibers.”
