‘Ali ibn Hujr narrated to us: Sharik informed us, from ‘Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Aqil, from al-Rubayyi‘ bint Mu‘awwidh ibn ‘Afra’, who said: I came to the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) with a tray of fresh dates and downy ajr cucumbers. He gave me a handful of ornaments and gold.

The Arabic calls the produce ajr/ajjr and describes it as zughb, downy or fuzzy. The English witness identifies it as fluffy cucumbers; the specific variety is not further explained.
وَأَجْرٍ زُغْبٍ
The Arabic names ajr/ajjr and says it is downy; the exact variety of cucumber is not identified in the text.
Should ajr here be rendered simply as cucumber, or retained as a specific produce name?
