Translation
Anas ibn Malik said

“Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) was neither very tall of stature, nor short. His skin was neither pale white, nor tawny, and his hair was neither crisply curled, nor lank. Allah (Exalted is He) sent him [to serve as His Messenger] at the end of forty years of life, so he stayed in Mecca for ten years and in Medina for ten years, and Allah took him unto Himself at the end of sixty years, with fewer than twenty white hairs on his head and in his beard.”

The Noble Age Of Sayyidina Rasoolullah

Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah 384, 385

Physical Description Commentary

The Prophet (ﷺ) possessed moderate physical attributes, demonstrating the principle of wasatiyyah (moderation) in Islam. His stature was neither excessively tall nor short, reflecting balanced creation. His complexion was neither pale white nor dark brown, but radiant with divine light. His hair maintained natural texture without extremes of curl or straightness.

Divine Timing & Prophetic Mission

Allah selected forty years as the age of prophethood commencement, indicating spiritual maturity and preparation. The decade in Mecca represented purification through persecution, while Medina manifested establishment of Islamic governance. The total sixty years symbolize completion of divine mission with minimal aging signs - fewer than twenty white hairs demonstrating divine preservation of the Prophet's noble appearance until his return to the Divine Presence.
