Muhammad ibn Bashshar narrated to us; he said: Muslim ibn Ibrahim narrated to us; he said: Aban ibn Yazid narrated to us, from Qatadah, from Shahr ibn Hawshab, from Abu ‘Ubayd, who said: I cooked a pot of food for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and he liked the foreleg. I handed him the foreleg. Then he said, ‘Hand me the foreleg,’ so I handed it to him. Then he said, ‘Hand me the foreleg,’ and I said, ‘Messenger of Allah, how many forelegs does a sheep have?’ He said, ‘By Him in whose hand is my soul, had you remained silent, you would have kept handing me the foreleg for as long as I asked.’
