Mahmud ibn Ghilan narrated to us; he said: Abu Ahmad narrated to us; he said: Sufyan narrated to us, from al-Aswad ibn Qays, from Nubayh al-‘Anazi, from Jabir ibn ‘Abd Allah, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, came to our home, so we slaughtered a sheep for him. He said, ‘It seems they knew that we love meat.’ The hadith has a longer story.
