Jabir reported that Allah’s Messenger asked, ‘Do you have patterned rugs?’ I replied, ‘How would we have patterned rugs?’ He said, ‘You will indeed have patterned rugs.’ Jabir said: I would tell my wife, ‘Put your rugs away from me,’ but she would reply, ‘Did the Prophet not say, “You will indeed have patterned rugs”?’ So I would leave them as they were.
Abu ‘Isa said: This is a hasan sahih hadith.

Anmat refers to patterned rugs or mats; the term is retained in translation with a plain-language equivalent. Jabir’s wife cites the Prophet’s words when he asks her to put them away.
