‘Abd Allah ibn Jarhad al-Aslami reported from his father, from the Prophet: ‘The thigh is part of the private area.’
Abu ‘Isa said: This is a hasan gharib hadith through this route. There are reports on this topic from ‘Ali and Muhammad ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn Jahsh. ‘Abd Allah ibn Jahsh was a Companion, as was his son Muhammad.
Notes and open questions — unreviewed
The Arabic chain identifies ‘Abd Allah ibn Jarhad al-Aslami and his father, not Ibn ‘Abbas as in the English witness; the source attribution is followed. The compiler adds two related reports and identifies both Ibn Jahsh and his son as Companions.
