Ibn ‘Abbas reported: I heard Abu Talhah say, ‘I heard Allah’s Messenger say: “The angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or an image of a figure.”’

Abu ‘Isa said: This is a hasan sahih hadith.

  • The Arabic refers to an image or statue; the English witness renders the phrase awkwardly as ‘an object of images.’ The source specifies both a dog and an image as the conditions mentioned.
