حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، حَدَّثَنَا بَشِيرٌ أَبُو إِسْمَاعِيلَ، وَفِطْرُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " لَيْسَ الْوَاصِلُ بِالْمُكَافِئِ وَلَكِنَّ الْوَاصِلَ الَّذِي إِذَا انْقَطَعَتْ رَحِمُهُ وَصَلَهَا " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ . وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ سَلْمَانَ وَعَائِشَةَ وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ .

Ibn Abi ‘Umar narrated to us: Sufyan narrated to us: Bashir Abu Isma‘il and Fitr ibn Khalifah narrated to us, from Mujahid, from ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Amr, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said: “The one who maintains kinship is not merely the one who reciprocates; rather, the one who truly maintains it is the one who reconnects with his kin when they sever ties with him.”
Abu ‘Isa said: This hadith is hasan sahih. Reports on this topic are also related from Salman, ‘A’ishah, and ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Umar.
