حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الأَعْشَى، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " مَنْ كَانَ لَهُ ثَلاَثُ بَنَاتٍ أَوْ ثَلاَثُ أَخَوَاتٍ أَوِ ابْنَتَانِ أَوْ أُخْتَانِ فَأَحْسَنَ صُحْبَتَهُنَّ وَاتَّقَى اللَّهَ فِيهِنَّ فَلَهُ الْجَنَّةُ " . قَالَ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ .

Ahmad ibn Muhammad informed us: ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Mubarak informed us: Ibn ‘Uyaynah informed us, from Suhayl ibn Abi Salih, from Ayyub ibn Bashir, from Sa‘id al-A‘sha, from Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever has three daughters or three sisters, or two daughters or two sisters, and treats them as good companions and is mindful of Allah with regard to them, Paradise is his.”
He said: This hadith is gharib.
Notes and open questions — unreviewed
The Arabic lists four alternatives: three daughters, three sisters, two daughters, or two sisters. The word suhbah is rendered as treating them well and keeping their company.

The English witness omits all transmitters named in the Arabic chain.
Should the chain be included in the published English record?
قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " مَنْ كَانَ لَهُ ثَلاَثُ بَنَاتٍ أَوْ ثَلاَثُ أَخَوَاتٍ أَوِ ابْنَتَانِ أَوْ أُخْتَانِ فَأَحْسَنَ صُحْبَتَهُنَّ وَاتَّقَى اللَّهَ فِيهِنَّ فَلَهُ الْجَنَّةُ " .
The Arabic enumerates both three and two daughters or sisters, and requires good companionship and mindfulness of Allah concerning them.
Can the phrase ‘keeps good company with them’ in the witness be confirmed as the intended rendering of أحسن صحبتهن?
قَالَ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ .
The Arabic classifies the report as gharib; the witness omits the classification.
