‘Abd ibn Humayd narrated to us: Zayd ibn al-Hubab al-‘Ukli narrated to us: Abu Salamah al-Kindi narrated to me: Farqad al-Sabakhi narrated to us, from Murrah ibn Sharahil al-Hamdani—also known as al-Tayyib—from Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Accursed is whoever harms a believer or plots against him.”

Abu ‘Isa said: This hadith is gharib.

Notes and open questions — unreviewed
  • The source includes an alternate epithet for Murrah ibn Sharahil al-Hamdani, al-Tayyib, and classifies the report as gharib.

  • حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ،

The witness omits all named transmitters before Abu Bakr al-Siddiq.

Should the chain be preserved in the translated text?

  • وَهُوَ الطَّيِّبُ - عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ،

The source identifies Murrah ibn Sharahil al-Hamdani as al-Tayyib; this epithet is absent from the witness.

Should this alternate name be included in the isnad?

  • ‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ ‏.

The Arabic classifies the report as gharib, omitted from the witness.

    Should the grade be retained?
