حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْيَقْظَانِ، عَنْ زَاذَانَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " ثَلاَثَةٌ عَلَى كُثْبَانِ الْمِسْكِ أُرَاهُ قَالَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَبْدٌ أَدَّى حَقَّ اللَّهِ وَحَقَّ مَوَالِيهِ وَرَجُلٌ أَمَّ قَوْمًا وَهُمْ بِهِ رَاضُونَ وَرَجُلٌ يُنَادِي بِالصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسِ فِي كُلِّ يَوْمٍ وَلَيْلَةٍ " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ لاَ نَعْرِفُهُ مِنْ حَدِيثِ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الْيَقْظَانِ إِلاَّ مِنْ حَدِيثِ وَكِيعٍ وَأَبُو الْيَقْظَانِ اسْمُهُ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ وَيُقَالُ ابْنُ عُمَيْرٍ وَهُوَ أَشْهَرُ .

Abu Kurayb narrated to us: Waki‘ narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Abu al-Yaqzan, from Zadhan, from Ibn ‘Umar, who said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Three will be upon mounds of musk—I think he said, on the Day of Resurrection: a slave who fulfills Allah’s due and the due of his masters; a man who leads a people in prayer while they are pleased with him; and a man who calls people to the five prayers each day and night.”
Abu ‘Isa said: This hadith is hasan gharib. We know the narration of Sufyan al-Thawri from Abu al-Yaqzan only through Waki‘. Abu al-Yaqzan’s name is said to be ‘Uthman ibn Qays, or ibn ‘Umayr; the latter is the better-known form.
Notes and open questions — unreviewed
The speaker’s uncertainty about “on the Day of Resurrection” is preserved. The final identity note reports variant forms of Abu al-Yaqzan’s name without resolving them.

The phrase أُرَاهُ قَالَ marks uncertainty about the addition “on the Day of Resurrection.”
Does the translation preserve the narrator’s uncertainty rather than state the timing as certain?
قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ لاَ نَعْرِفُهُ مِنْ حَدِيثِ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الْيَقْظَانِ إِلاَّ مِنْ حَدِيثِ وَكِيعٍ وَأَبُو الْيَقْظَانِ اسْمُهُ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ وَيُقَالُ ابْنُ عُمَيْرٍ وَهُوَ أَشْهَرُ .
The source gives two possible names for Abu al-Yaqzan and says one form is more famous.
